Volunteer Spotlight: Bea Escalante

SPECIAL THANKS TO A
SPECIAL VOLUNTEER

Pictured is Volunteer Bea Escalante. An Ocean Explorium volunteer since May 2010, Bea has amassed over 1,250 hours working in the Admissions and Gift Shop departments, performing a variety of tasks for special events, and helping with field trips aboard the Enviro-Lab.

Bea is a retired Production Manager who has interacted with people of all ages. "I was looking for some outside activity that I might enjoy, and the Ocean Explorium has filled that bill" Bea says. "The visitors represent all age groups, from 5 months to 90 years, and the other Volunteers and Staff include a range of different personalities." Bea sums it up this way: "The Ocean Explorium is a place that I thoroughly enjoy coming to and spending some time helping out."
