The Living Ocean

The Living Ocean exhibit consists of six aquatic habitats that highlight issues shown on Science on a Sphere®. A vibrant living coral reef introduces global climate change, coral bleaching and biodiversity. Other live exhibits include Scallops, New England Fishes, Jellyfish, Anemone Fishes and Seahorses!

Sign up at our gift shop to work directly with the aquarist staff and help feed our marine life at 11:30 and 2.

The Touch Experience

Touch Life! at the Ocean Explorium. Our new Touch Experience includes Crabs, Whelks, Mussels and Clams. How better to meet your local marine life? Get your hands wet. Get up close and personal with your sandy neighbors.

The Living Laboratory (opens 2010)

Most people rarely see the early stages of marine life, the babies of the ocean. The Living Laboratory consists of a series of small living exhibits that display delicate, juvenile marine organisms—e.g., jellyfish euphyrae, larval lobsters, shark egg cases, baby seahorses, etc. The Living Laboratory includes a coral farm where you can observe the growth of small coral colonies.

Ray and Shark Exhibit
(opens 2010)

Reach out and touch a ray! The Ray and Shark Exhibit is a large interactive exhibit where you can interact directly with a sting ray or small shark. What better way to be introduced to the Oceans than reaching out and touching marine life. At certain times of the day you may even be able to feed the animals.
