Student Field Trip Costs and Reservations
School Year field trips are either free of charge* or available for a fee, depending on the location of the participating school.

Free Field Trip Zone
Field trips are available at no charge* for schools in SouthEastern Massachusetts (Fall River through Wareham). Cancellation Fees and Bag Lunch Fees still apply.

     *Our no charge policy applies to schools with a free and reduced lunch rating of 25% or greater.

Field Trip Costs
For schools outside of the free zone, the following charges apply:

$125 for 0-15 students
$250 for 16-30 students
$375 for 31-45 students
$500 for 46-60 students

Cancellation Fee
$50—A cancellation fee will be charged for all schools (including those in the free zone), if one week’s notice is not given. Cancellations with notice of one week or more will not incur a fee. Effective March 1, 2009.

Bag Lunch Fee
$30—For classes that would like to bring their own lunch to the Explorium, a fee will be charged for cleaning, set up, and break down of tables.

     Field trips are partially funded by: University of Massachusetts Dartmouth, City of New Bedford.
     U.S. Department of Education under the Education through Cultural and Historical
     Organization (ECHO) Program.

Ocean Explorium Admission
If you would like to enjoy the Ocean Explorium's facilities before or after your field trip, please note that additional admission fees of $4.00 per student and $6.00 per adult apply.
