Fishery Rejuvenated!

How can we use technology to advance fisheries science? Kevin Stokesbury uses the sea scallop fishery to demonstrate how technology can tell us much about our natural resources.

Kevin Stokesbury is assistant professor at the School for Marine Science and Technology (SMAST), University of Massachusetts Dartmouth. Kevin will talk about sea scallops, one of the most valuable fishing industries in the United States. Learn how technologies developed by SMAST, which include a video survey system, allow the accurate measurement of scallops in open and closed areas along the historically significant fishing grounds of George's Bank; a wonderful story of scientists and fishermen working together to rejuvenate a fishery.
