Ocean Explorium Sends Out a Call for Creativity

Yes! It’s the Blues for the Blue Poster Contest!

NEW BEDFORD, MA (September 6, 2010) —

The Ocean Explorium is looking for a winning graphic design for its "Blues for the Blue”-Infused! benefit concert to be held March 5 of 2011. Neal McCarthy and Friends will return for an evening of Classic Blues while Santa Mamba joins them to add their signature Latin Roots Rock. We seek a stunning graphic design to celebrate the event and to be used on concert posters and other promotional materials.

The "Blues for the Blue”-Infused! concert will be held at the Tifereth Israel Synagogue in New Bedford. Coordinator Jen Costa called the venue "... a great space with an impressive hall and plenty of parking." An international dinner buffet, a full bar and a silent auction will be on offer.

Tickets can be purchased in advance at a level of $25 for Ocean Explorium members and $30 for general admission. All tickets are $35 at the door. Exclusive VIP Packages, including a reserved table for eight and a 'meet and greet' experience with event artists, are available in limited quantity.

Funds raised from the Second Annual "Blues for the Blue" concert will help support the exhibits and educational programs at the Ocean Explorium in downtown New Bedford.

The winning graphic designer will receive "Blues for the Blue”-Infused! Tickets, an Ocean Explorium gift bag, and will be recognized at the concert, on our website and in a press release. The poster design contest is open to amateur and professional designers 21 years of age and older. Submissions must be received by November 15, 2010, to be considered.
