Women's achievements in math, science lauded

NEW BEDFORD — They are WiSE women who know their way around logarithms, microbes and more and, in the coming weeks, they'll be spreading their gospel:

Women and girls can do math and science.

Before a standing-room-only crowd, Dr. Jean F. MacCormack, chancellor of UMass Dartmouth, delivered that message recently as the Ocean Explorium and Women's Fund kicked off the second annual Women in Science + Engineering speaker series.
